What Do I need to get my Visa to travel to Brazil as an American citizen?
IM planning a surf trip to Brazil come this winter and would like to know what it is I need as far as documentation, where it is I need to go and approx. how long it will take to receive my visa. Do they stamp it into my passport or separate paper? How long does that permit me to stay in the country? I live in Jacksonville beach FL Immigration - 2 Answers

The visa will be affixed to your passport. It must have at least two blank pages. You can stay for 90 days; if you want to stay longer you must request this at a Federal Police Department in Brazil within 30 days of arrival. You cannot stay for more than 180 days per year. Visa applied for in person at the Consulate General in Miami ($140) take 5 working days. Visa applied for by post or through a travel agent ($160) take three weeks.
