The visa will be affixed to your passport. It must have at least two blank pages. You can stay for 90 days; if you want to stay longer you must request this at a Federal Police Department in Brazil within 30 days of arrival. You cannot stay for more than 180 days per year. Visa applied for in person at the Consulate General in Miami ($140) take 5 working days. Visa applied for by post or through a travel agent ($160) take three weeks. The requirements can be found here: http://www.brazilmiami.org/eng/visas_vitur.php ..

About how can I travel on the road for 9 hours with a baby

How can I travel on the road for 9 hours with a baby?
Me and the wife are going on our first vacation to the keys since we had our baby. She is worried about the ride for the baby cause it is 9 hours. How can we make it easier for all of us and no I couldn't get it closer to jacksonville (which is our home) cause of our timeshare week plus we are meeting family there. The baby is 6 months.

Give yourself plenty of time to get there. Maybe one of you should sit in the back with him/her to sooth her.
2 :
Your baby should be fine. Just make sure to stop every few hours and take your baby out of the carseat to stretch and feed and stuff. I traveled 30 hours in a car with my 2 month old son and he was brilliant the whole way...slept like a ...well a baby!
3 :
Well, if the baby usually sleeps at night try to do most of your driving then so as not to disturb the babies schedule. 9 hours is a long time but it will probably take longer because you'll need to stop and take the baby out and let them move around and stretch. I would really just make sure you give yourself extra time and try not to rush it.
4 :
Like at home, you have to do everything around the baby's schedule. You want the baby to sleep in the car and never any other time. You may want to think about traveling more at night. The baby will sleep and you'll make better time. During the day plan lots of stops - at least every 3 hours but be flexible because you only want to stop when the baby is awake. Have lots of toys and something with lights or music, like a crib soother you can strap in your car. I had to do it with my 7 month old and your wife is right - its horrible. I'll never do it again. Also bring infant tylenol and oragel - my kid started teething during the road trip and it took forever to find a place that sold that stuff.
5 :
umm my best advice to you is to just give yourselves plenty of time to get there. Give your baby a toy or two, and then switch out so the baby doesn't get bored. When the baby gets fussy you should stop and get out and walk around and stuff. And you have to stop every now and then to feed him/her and change their diaper. It won't be that big of a problem though, don't worry. Just make sure that everything's packed and that you have what you're going to need ready :)
6 :
Your baby should sleep most of the way. When you stop to refuel, take your baby out of the car seat and let them stretch, change the diaper and head back on the road. When the baby gets fussy have your wife sit in the back seat and feed the baby or she could talk to him/her so they wont be so fussy.

I've done this with both my girls when they were around the same age and it was a 10 hour trip. Is ur bub bottle fed? If so it's handy if they can either hold the bottle themselves or you can prop it up on a cushion so it sits in their mouth..You'll find that the car will relax them and bub will probably drift in and out of sleep..Keep a bucket of toys and books next to the carseat and mummy will have to do some occupying.. We only stopped once for lunch and a nappy change..it was a smooth trip for both.. I'm sure you'll live..good luck
8 :
It's definitely do-able. How depends on your baby. My two kids were completely different in the car. The first one would typically be lulled to sleep so you could get a few hours driving in before you needed to stop. The second HATED being in the car and we could drive for an hour or maybe two before stopping. And a stop with a baby is not a quick bathroom stop like it is for you. It's break time/play time. Keep that in mind so you're not chomping at the bit to get back on the road. You know what makes your baby happy, whether it's mirrors (DS1) or girl bands (DS2). Go with what you know.

About Attractions besides Universal & Sea world in Jacksonville, Florida (preferably indoor)

Attractions besides Universal & Sea world in Jacksonville, Florida (preferably indoor)?
I am traveling to Jacksonville Florida Nov. 28th-Dec 4th and i was hoping someone could give me some fun attractions 20 year olds can enjoy besides Universal and Sea World. We are going to visit a friend, who wants us to go to Universal, but you can go to an amusement park anywhere & we're not fond of amusement parks Any Suggestions?

Universal Studios Florida and Sea World are in Orlando, about three and a half hours to the south.
2 :
Go to the Submarine museum in St. Marys GA, then take a boat ride to Cumberland island, it's a nature presurve with wild horses and other animals, about 30 min north. In Jacksonville the MOSH is good also, its about science and history. A lot of people go to the landing to party.
3 :
Well, there aren't any hoopla attractions like in Orlando but there is the Museum of Science and History (MOSH) as the person said above. Basically, it showcases Jacksonville history and has really cool science shows. The best part about it is the planetarium where you sit and look up at the ceiling at "stars". You also have the Jacksonville Zoo, the beaches, St. Augustine....Really important website below

About i have a 15lbs miniature schnauzer. What's the best carrier for air travel

i have a 15lbs miniature schnauzer. What's the best carrier for air travel?
I am flying from houston to jacksonville and want to take my schnauzer. She weights 15 lbs. The most comfortable carrier for her i think is a large sherpa. Has anyone traveled with a 15lbs dog? What carrier did you use? Was it comfortable, did it fit? I am traveling continental air.

my dear little mutt was about that size when I flew her from DFW to San Francisco. Not sure what size a "large Sherpa" is, but we used a Doskocil (now called Petmate), I think a medium size. Dog has to be able to stand up and turn around; not good to have it too much bigger than dog itself. Put her blanket and "lovey" in so she will be comfortable, may be better if you skip feeding her morning of the flight. Am sure you know you need to let CO know you will be bringing her!

About any discounted furniture stores near Jacksonville, NC

Any discounted furniture stores near Jacksonville, NC?
I am traveling down to Jacksonville, NC to help my fiance move back home (he's getting out of the Marine Corps). Anyway, we plan on getting an apartment within the next couple of months and we've heard that North Carolina is the furniture capital and that it has amazing prices. If anybody has any recommendations for stores it would be greatly appreciated. We definitely do like the nicer things and one of the major items we would like to purchase is a sectional sofa. Thanksss :)

It is true however the pricing found in The NC furniture market is to licensed furniture retailers. They're are a few exceptions. You'll have to do your homework. There are many companies claiming to sell wholesale to the public and if you have really shopped and know your stuff you'll will find they're a fraud. Your best bet is to look for legit dealer you know. Follow their sales and close out and liquidations. You can find good deals this way. Sometimes they advertise them on places like Craigs List and Backpage.com

About what do you do with your dogs when you travel

What do you do with your dogs when you travel?
I have 3 big dogs right now and we have started traveling for business, and I refuse to put them in cargo on a plane. My problem is what to do with 3 massive dogs!! We don't live near family so our only choice is a kennel. Anyone know a good kennel near Jacksonville, FL, or any other ideas. I've had dogs forever, but we just moved out of state and we've always had our family watch them, so I'm stumped. Thanks guys.

I use the doggie daycare facility where I work, to board my dogs. They are able to go to daycare with me (for free) on the shifts when I work, so it is just like a home away from home for them. Check with your vet; many times they offer boarding. Ask people at the dog park for recommendations; either for boarding facility or pet sitters.
2 :
I don't know of any kennels in the area as I live in SC, but you should consider letting someone else keep them that you trust while you are out. Give them money to cover food and the such, and the dogs will be happy. It is your choice, however.
3 :
You should leave them or the airport will give u like something to put your dog in it,I think!!!!!!!!!!!
4 :
Sounds like you have two choices. The first is to board them. Boarding them at a vet is usually safe as you can kind of guarantee they'll be taken care of. Also, petsmart and other places have "pet hotels", where I am sure they are pampered. The second choice is to hire a "pet sitting" services where people either (A) stay at your house while you're gone, or (B) they come to your house once, twice, three or more times a day (depending on what you specify) to take your pets out, walk them etc. You can find their cards in local vets or petstores, or even in the local yellow pages.
5 :
Look for a pet sitter to stay at your house instead. That is always my first choice when I travel. I have boarded before, but always prefer someone to stay at my home and keep my pets' routine. They are happier too.
6 :
let him drink alcohol
7 :
I would start by visiting the local kennels, look for stuff like how much poo is in the kennel, is the place dirt, smelly? Do they have a large outside run, or regular walks? Or are the dogs kenneled the entire time. Do they require an immunization check? Look at the dogs there, if they look happy then that should help.
8 :
if they can stay at your house, there are actually services in most towns where a person will come to your house for a couple hours a day and walk your dog play with them and feed/water them check the yellow pages then do a reference check of any place that seems right for you
9 :
I think you should call someone to watch your dogs for you if you are traveling by plane. If you are traveling by car, I might suggest to either bring them along or like I said, have them looked after. I know someone, at least someone will want to watch your dogs for you.
10 :
It is perfectly safe for your dogs to fly cargo on a plane. Against popular belief, the cargo area is climate controlled in the exact same way that your cabin is - the only time it is *not* climate controlled is when the plane is standing on the ground at an airport. (Which is why many airlines won't take your dog if you have a layover in a location where it's very cold or very hot.) That said, if you don't have anyone nearby who can take your dogs, there are two things you can consider - leaving them home and having a pet sitter take care of them, or boarding them at a kennel. Pet sitters can be found through www.petsit.com . All of the pet sitters on their network are insured professionals, not the kid down the block who walks dogs in his spare time. If you would rather board, find your local and area kennels in your phone book, then check them out unannounced. If the kennel does not allow you to tour the facilities without making an appointment, don't board there. If they require your dog to be bathed before you get him back, don't board there - they're probably not very clean. Go with the kennel you feel most comfortable about. You can ask them for references - don't be afraid to do that. Contact the references and see what they have to say.
11 :
when you go to yahoos main page, and at the search bar their is a tab that says local, and i would search for a kennel in you area, just type in dog kennel, or boarding, and your local area, and people can comment on what they think of the place and it has helped me out on choosing pet stores and stuff around where i live. maybe it can help you? i wuld call and ask how they run, and what they will do each day with your dogs, and thren go from their. i wouldnt take them to a place that dont intreact with them. and most kennels or boarding facitlitys require your dog to be vaccinated before you take them there. good luck and hope this helps
12 :
I have 2 small dogs and when I travel I always leave them in a "pet hotel", I got to know the owner (he's also my dog's groomer) and saw the facility and decided to leave them with him. He has a staff that take the dogs out twice a day to the backyard to play and feed them everyday, also If they are taking any medicine they give it to them.
13 :
The method I use and recommend is an automatic waterer. They sell many different kinds and feeders too. We have so many dogs now that's about all we can do. I usually feel their feeder and they have the waterer so they pretty much can stay home. If you'll be gone awhile you might have a neighbor check in on them occasionally.
14 :
I use a reputable pet sitter in my town, she comes around twice a day, for an hour, walks the dogs, feeds them, and cleans up after them. She is great with the dogs, and before i hired her, i asked her to come around so i could see how she interacted with my dogs, i checked out all her references. Its cheaper for me in the long run to hire her, rather than kennel the dogs, 5 of them, and its less stressful to the dogs.
15 :
You can either put them in a kennel, have someone come to the house once or twice a day to feed/walk/potty break or have someone stay at your home as a dog sitter. I would get recommendations from the local vet or doggy store and check out any Pet Directories in your area. I've taken my dog with me at motels that accept pets, have left her at a friend's who has a dog (receiprocal agreement) and have another friend w/dog stay at my house now that I have 2 dogs. My 1st choice would be to have your dogs stay at home since there are 3 of them and they will be most comfortable at home. You can find petsitters to come in or spend the night. If that's not feasible, get some recommendation on kennels & make visits BEFORE you need them. Around here, some of the good places fill up during holidays & summer vacations, so it's good to plan ahead where possible.
