About can I travel back to Milwaukee on greyhound but take a different route back

can I travel back to Milwaukee on greyhound but take a different route back?
I want to travel to Jacksonville on July 14. I am just anxious to get away for a few days traveling by bus. Is it possible to travel back a different route but still ending up in Milwaukee. Route already goes through Atlanta and Tennessee. Would like to maybe come back through new York or some other eastern or southern route.

Not sure what you call it in the Navy, in the AF it is the Transportation Office--get with your supervisor and or housing office. I believe, that you will have to transport the bike yourself as it is within the continental states. I would do a Dity Move and make some cash.

About Military PCS orders Hawaii to Jacksonville, FL how many proceed days and travel days

Military PCS orders Hawaii to Jacksonville, FL how many proceed days and travel days?
If you ship your POV from Pearl Harbor to NAS Jax does this change your proceed / travel days? So - looking for two answers - time if you pick up the POV in CA and drive across and time if you ship the car all the way. Thanks

Your best bet would be to directly talk to your branch's equivalent of Military Personnel Flight (MPF).
2 :
As far as I know, you shipped the car to Jacksonville, so you shouldn't be able to drive across from CA with it. The service ships the car to the closest point of your next duty station, unless you get something put in your orders to stipulate otherwise. I don't think you will get to wait for the car. The family should be flown from Hawaii to the next duty station (barring training en route) together, and you will be placed in temporary housing where a car won't be a requirement anyway for 90 days. Check your orders when you get them. The car can take months to arrive.

About What bus services travel from around the Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania area to Jacksonville, North Carolina

What bus services travel from around the Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania area to Jacksonville, North Carolina?
My brother is in the Marine Corps currently training at the school of infantry somewhere in North Carolina. He texted my phone tonight asking me to get bus tickets for his fiancee and myself to go visit him this next weekend because he has liberties. I am having a heck of a time finding services though...

There is a Trailways/Greyhound bus station in Jacksonville, NC...I am about 20 miles S. of Jacksonville, and go there all the time... If you can get your brother's military discount, you can get there and back for about $195-$198 each... http://www.greyhound.com/scripts/en/TicketCenter/Step4.asp Sure you don't want to just fly there at that rate?...

greyhound about $150

About military space a travel from LA to jacksonville FL

military space a travel from LA to jacksonville FL?
i have never used space a and would like to know what people think. i need to go to FL and was thinking of using space a. when i say from LA i ment from March AFB in riverside. any help would be great. i dont need to leave on a certain day but would like to leave within the week or so. i have never used space a before so i dont know what to do.

Don't plan on arriving the day you plan to arrive or departing the day you plan to depart. Space A works because the military fits you into their schedule. If their schedule doesn't fly from LA to JAX regularly, it may be a while. Also, if you are traveling for pleasure/not on official orders, you will be relatively low in the pecking order for getting what seats are available. Jacksonville is relatively easy to fly in/out of because NAS Jax is here. I'm not too sure about LA, but I imagine it would be more difficult because there's not a large air station in the vicinity to fly into.
2 :
Here's the main phone number for March Air Reserve Base. But, most of their missions are for Pacific Air Forces, so I don't know if you will be able to connect with NAS Jacksonville, Florida. I think you might do better trying to get a hop out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, about thirty miles down I-15 from March. That's the second number below. In both cases ask the operator for air operations: March: 909-655-1110 Miramar: 858-577-1011

Well if travel time isn't a problem, then take the amtrak train... you can move around and its cheap... but the trip will be long, like some 7-8 hrs.... but it beats a smelly old bus. go to Amtrak.com..... you'll be able to get an estimate on it. I also forgot to mention that you can fly SouthWest from Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale, and if you reserve the ticket in time, it might not cost too much.... as low at $49 each way. Then you can take the bus from the airport to the Tri-Rail train station and ride to Miami. Flying to Miami directly might be a little more expensive through SouthWest.
2 :
Yeah Amtrak is prolly your best Bet.... there are buses but they stop at every po-dunk city and town....

About What is the best "rent-a-car" option if i want to travel from New York to Jacksonville, FL for few days

What is the best "rent-a-car" option if i want to travel from New York to Jacksonville, FL for few days?
...prices/cars etc. Anyone? =) I'm planning a trip next summer there (I'm from Europe). I will land in NY and be there for few days, but the rest of the time I need to be in Florida. That is why I am considering of renting a car and drive "down there" and spending few days (and nights) in some other cities (also suggest where to go on the way to FL). Thanks all!

Compact unlimited miles, do not tell them you are going out of state and use your own car insurance, you dont have to purchase theirs. At least thats the law here in ga.
2 :
If you mean to leave the car in Jacksonville, call the N.Y. agencies and ask if they have a Florida car that needs to be returned.
3 :
My husband used to work as a branch rental manager in Jacksonville for Enterprise Rent a Car. He has relocated to a different part of the state now. I know that Enterprise at some locations has a set of one way cars. They have awesome service too! My husband would stay as late as he needed & always wanted to make sure the customer was completely satisfied. Enterprise also owns National & Alamo. I would suggest giving them a call & ask them your questions.
4 :
enterprise is good..
5 :
As mentioned, one of the biggest questions to ask is if there will be a drop off fee for leaving the car in another state. My daughter recently rented from enterprise and had a very good experience. http://naturesnook.blogspot.com/2008/09/its-true-you-get-what-you-pay-for.html Another option would be taking the train to FL and then renting once you get there Good places to visit if you decide to drive are Washington DC (lots to see and do there), the Harbourfront in Baltimore and, if it interests you, the National Aquarium is great, side trip to Savannah, GA
6 :
I'd agree with taking the train from NY to Jacksonville unless you really want to drive - it's relatively inexpensive and a relaxing way to travel. (However, get a roomette if you want to have a bit of privacy and sleep more comfortably.)

About how long do you think it would be travel from Jacksonville Florida to Australia

how long do you think it would be travel from Jacksonville Florida to Australia?
Other - United States - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Depends on how you are traveling?
2 :
It will depend upon where you want to fly to in Australia. If for example you want to arrive in Sydney, then according to this link http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?tovr=-1294677295&ps3u= it would take 33hr 25mins to fly from JAX to Sydney with connecting flight. As a comparison, it takes about 13-14hrs to fly to Brisbane direct from LAX. Therefore you could select a city with direct flights to Australian cities and leave from one of those. Hope this helps.

About how much gas would i need to travel to Jacksonville, Fl from Bakersfield

how much gas would i need to travel to Jacksonville, Fl from Bakersfield?
How much would i spend on gas from bakersfield to Jacksonville florida
Commuting - 10 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
It all depends on what you drive and the price of gas within that area, well hope you have a safe road trip!
2 :
obviously it depends on what you drive. In a 4 cylinder compact, probably around $60-$75. In a V-8 large truck, about $200.
3 :
3 gallons
4 :
get on www.mapquest.com Put in your start and ending location. That should give you a rough estimate of the miles you need to travel. Then take the fuel mileage your vehicle gets, and divide the total number of miles you're going to travel (there and back) by the fuel mileage of your vehicle. That'll give you the total number of gallons that you'll use. Multiply that by the cost of fuel (around $3.20 a gallon) And wallaa.
5 :
Go to Mapquest.com or maps.google.com and put int he two addresses. Get driving directions and see how many miles it says. Add 10% to that number. Now determine how many miles per gallon your vehicle gets but if you don't know you can usually estimate 21 to 22 miles per gallon and be safe unless you have a pickup truck or SUV and then use 17 mpg. Divide the total miles by either the 22 or the 17 and you should have a pretty good estimate on how many. Unless you know for sure what you get and then don't take the high figure but reduce it by 3 mpg just to be safe and divide that into the total and remember that's a one way trip. Double it to get back.
6 :
You first need to calculate how many miles you get per gallon of gas then divide that number into how many miles you want to drive.
7 :
Bakersfield, CA to Jacksonville? That depends on a lot of things: Are you driving or flying? Will you need lodging along the way if you are driving? Can you pack food and drinks for the drive? Will you need lodging once you ge to Jacksonville? What route (if driving) will you be taking? I'm guessing probably strait out I-10 would be the best since it's the fastest. I live in Jacksonville and have traveled between California and Florida a few times by car. If you need any specific info for this area like gas prices, traffic, etc. just send me a message.
8 :
It depends on the fuel economy your vehicle gets, the costs of the fuel, how many stops you're making, etc...But a trip of that distance generally takes me $250 for gas...
9 :
The distances from Bakersfield, CA to Jacksonville, Fl is about 2622 miles. Now lets assume you get 30 mpg on your car. You take 2622/30 which comes out to 87.4. The average price of gas is $3.15 per gallon so take 87.4*3.15, giving you an estimated one way cost of $275.31. You should look into flying, it might be cheaper.
10 :
It doesn't really matter just drive as fast as you can out of Bakersfield and never look back :o)

How long does it take to travel from Jacksonville Fl to Naples Fl?
I'm writing something that has to do with this? Can anyone tell me how long? Hours? Days?
Other - Destinations - 2 Answers

1 :
You should go to Map Quest on the internet and put in the exact points of departure and arrival, and it will tell you the distance as well as the longest and shortest possible travel times :)
2 :
This depends in part on how you're traveling - I'm assuming by car or the like as opposed to walking or biking. Most route sites (mapquest, etc.) will probably direct you down I-95 and across I-4 to I-75, however that takes you thru Orlando where traffic delays are almost a given. My preferred route is US 301 down to Ocala and then pick up I-75...travel time will probably be somewhere around 6 hours.

About Is a passport required to travel from Jacksonville to the Bahamas

Is a passport required to travel from Jacksonville to the Bahamas?
My daughter is traveling on a cruise from Jacksonville to Freeport to Nassau and back to Jacksonville. There is no air travel involved. Is a passport required?

1 :
yes, anytime u leave or enter a country for another one you must have a passport. unless she isnt going to get off the boat, then i dont think she needs one
2 :
Here is what the passport agency says. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_989.html#entry_requirements Don't confuse the travel visa with a passport - TOURIST visa is issued by customs in the Bahama's. She will not even board the ship w/o her passport !
3 :
Yvone, The short answer is NO, it is NOT required (Google WHTI). I, on the other hand, recommend to ALL my travelers that they carry a valid passport. The reason is quite simple. You CAN sail from Jacksonville, and return here w/no passport, but, if you break a leg, or miss the ship, how do you get home? Get the passport. There are a few agencies in Jacksonville. It's the best bet. If you need help, I'm in Jacksonville. Joe
4 :
A passport is acceptable for travel mentioned above, as well as anywhere in the world via any mode of transportation, with limited exceptions (i.e. cuba). Within North America, there are additional documents which may be presented for land and see crossings. You may have obtained a Passport card, which you would apply for in the same manner as a passport, but you'd receive a simple card. If you live in a state which offeres enhanced id cards or enhanced driver licenses (Florida does not at this time) that would be acceptable as well. So best bet would be to just apply for that passport.
