Jacksonville to Port Saint Lucie by public transportation?
I want to travel from Jacksonville Florida by Train or bus and visit a friend of mine in Jensen Beach. Is there any types of public transportation that could get me from one place to the other and back in one day? I have looked all over google but I can't seem to find anything. I suggest you try Amtrack (rail) or a private bus line like Greyhound or Trailways. You could fly also, but I feel that short a distance is usually not practical - too much time wasted in take off and landing - besides travel to and from airport - might be worth it to you to check though.

In general, it's usually a pretty nice drive. However, in the afternoons between 3-5PM (especially this time of year), keep an eye out for pop-up thunderstorms. You'll be driving right along the ocean and when the wind shifts to bring the damp air over land, they can appear with very little advanced warning, dump a downpour for 15-30 minutes and then be gone again.

I want to travel to Jacksonville on July 14. I am just anxious to get away for a few days traveling by bus. Is it possible to travel back a different route but still ending up in Milwaukee. Route already goes through Atlanta and Tennessee. Would like to maybe come back through new York or some other eastern or southern route. Other - United States - 1 Answers

Not sure what you call it in the Navy, in the AF it is the Transportation Office--get with your supervisor and or housing office. I believe, that you will have to transport the bike yourself as it is within the continental states. I would do a Dity Move and make some cash.

Military PCS orders Hawaii to Jacksonville, FL how many proceed days and travel days?
If you ship your POV from Pearl Harbor to NAS Jax does this change your proceed / travel days? So - looking for two answers - time if you pick up the POV in CA and drive across and time if you ship the car all the way. Thanks Military - 2 Answers

Your best bet would be to directly talk to your branch's equivalent of Military Personnel Flight (MPF).

As far as I know, you shipped the car to Jacksonville, so you shouldn't be able to drive across from CA with it. The service ships the car to the closest point of your next duty station, unless you get something put in your orders to stipulate otherwise. I don't think you will get to wait for the car. The family should be flown from Hawaii to the next duty station (barring training en route) together, and you will be placed in temporary housing where a car won't be a requirement anyway for 90 days. Check your orders when you get them. The car can take months to arrive.
