About Military PCS orders Hawaii to Jacksonville, FL how many proceed days and travel days

Military PCS orders Hawaii to Jacksonville, FL how many proceed days and travel days?
If you ship your POV from Pearl Harbor to NAS Jax does this change your proceed / travel days? So - looking for two answers - time if you pick up the POV in CA and drive across and time if you ship the car all the way. Thanks

Your best bet would be to directly talk to your branch's equivalent of Military Personnel Flight (MPF).

As far as I know, you shipped the car to Jacksonville, so you shouldn't be able to drive across from CA with it. The service ships the car to the closest point of your next duty station, unless you get something put in your orders to stipulate otherwise. I don't think you will get to wait for the car. The family should be flown from Hawaii to the next duty station (barring training en route) together, and you will be placed in temporary housing where a car won't be a requirement anyway for 90 days. Check your orders when you get them. The car can take months to arrive.

About What bus services travel from around the Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania area to Jacksonville, North Carolina

What bus services travel from around the Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania area to Jacksonville, North Carolina?
My brother is in the Marine Corps currently training at the school of infantry somewhere in North Carolina. He texted my phone tonight asking me to get bus tickets for his fiancee and myself to go visit him this next weekend because he has liberties. I am having a heck of a time finding services though...

There is a Trailways/Greyhound bus station in Jacksonville, NC...I am about 20 miles S. of Jacksonville, and go there all the time... If you can get your brother's military discount, you can get there and back for about $195-$198 each... http://www.greyhound.com/scripts/en/TicketCenter/Step4.asp Sure you don't want to just fly there at that rate?...

greyhound about $150

Don't plan on arriving the day you plan to arrive or departing the day you plan to depart. Space A works because the military fits you into their schedule. If their schedule doesn't fly from LA to JAX regularly, it may be a while. Also, if you are traveling for pleasure/not on official orders, you will be relatively low in the pecking order for getting what seats are available. Jacksonville is relatively easy to fly in/out of because NAS Jax is here. I'm not too sure about LA, but I imagine it would be more difficult because there's not a large air station in the vicinity to fly into.

Here's the main phone number for March Air Reserve Base. But, most of their missions are for Pacific Air Forces, so I don't know if you will be able to connect with NAS Jacksonville, Florida. I think you might do better trying to get a hop out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, about thirty miles down I-15 from March. That's the second number below. In both cases ask the operator for air operations: March: 909-655-1110 Miramar: 858-577-1011

Well if travel time isn't a problem, then take the amtrak train... you can move around and its cheap... but the trip will be long, like some 7-8 hrs.... but it beats a smelly old bus. go to Amtrak.com..... you'll be able to get an estimate on it. I also forgot to mention that you can fly SouthWest from Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale, and if you reserve the ticket in time, it might not cost too much.... as low at $49 each way. Then you can take the bus from the airport to the Tri-Rail train station and ride to Miami. Flying to Miami directly might be a little more expensive through SouthWest.
2 :
Yeah Amtrak is prolly your best Bet.... there are buses but they stop at every po-dunk city and town....

About What is the best "rent-a-car" option if i want to travel from New York to Jacksonville, FL for few days

What is the best "rent-a-car" option if i want to travel from New York to Jacksonville, FL for few days?
...prices/cars etc. Anyone? =) I'm planning a trip next summer there (I'm from Europe). I will land in NY and be there for few days, but the rest of the time I need to be in Florida. That is why I am considering of renting a car and drive "down there" and spending few days (and nights) in some other cities (also suggest where to go on the way to FL). Thanks all!

Compact unlimited miles, do not tell them you are going out of state and use your own car insurance, you dont have to purchase theirs. At least thats the law here in ga.
2 :
If you mean to leave the car in Jacksonville, call the N.Y. agencies and ask if they have a Florida car that needs to be returned.
3 :
My husband used to work as a branch rental manager in Jacksonville for Enterprise Rent a Car. He has relocated to a different part of the state now. I know that Enterprise at some locations has a set of one way cars. They have awesome service too! My husband would stay as late as he needed & always wanted to make sure the customer was completely satisfied. Enterprise also owns National & Alamo. I would suggest giving them a call & ask them your questions.
4 :
enterprise is good..

As mentioned, one of the biggest questions to ask is if there will be a drop off fee for leaving the car in another state. My daughter recently rented from enterprise and had a very good experience. http://naturesnook.blogspot.com/2008/09/its-true-you-get-what-you-pay-for.html Another option would be taking the train to FL and then renting once you get there Good places to visit if you decide to drive are Washington DC (lots to see and do there), the Harbourfront in Baltimore and, if it interests you, the National Aquarium is great, side trip to Savannah, GA
6 :
I'd agree with taking the train from NY to Jacksonville unless you really want to drive - it's relatively inexpensive and a relaxing way to travel. (However, get a roomette if you want to have a bit of privacy and sleep more comfortably.)
